Deadline stories that “A-list names, together with Billie Eilish, have entered the rumor mill,” although no formal presents have been made. Eilish, a two-time Oscar-winning musician, debuted in Donald Glover’s sequence Swarm and is reportedly in talks for the upcoming season.
Season 1 of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, created by Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane, starred Glover and Maya Erskine as two spies who assume the identities of John and Jane Smith. The season ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, with the characters caught in a gunfight.
Sloane described the finale as a “nod to a ’70s cinema cliffhanger,” leaving the destiny of the characters ambiguous. When requested if Glover and Erskine would return, Sloane said, “If we let you know an excessive amount of, you’ll know early in the event that they survived.”
Hypothesis about new leads has sparked rumors that the present could undertake an anthology strategy, much like Fargo.
