Levan Akin’s Crossing and Frida Kempff’s The Swedish Torpedo headed the winners at Sweden’s Guldbagge nationwide movie awards, introduced in Stockholm on Monday, January 13.
Crossing received the very best movie award, introduced to producer Mathilde Dedye – the second time Akin and Dedye have taken the highest Guldbagge award, after And Then We Danced in 2020.

Akin obtained the very best director prize, with the movie additionally successful greatest cinematography for Lisabi Fridell, and greatest sound design for Anne Gry Friis Kristensen and Sigrid DPA Jensen.
Crossing opened the Panorama strand ultimately 12 months’s Berlinale; the movie follows an ageing Georgian girl who travels to Istanbul seeking her transgender niece.

Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingsson’s documentary The Final Journey obtained the Guldbagge viewers award; whereas an honorary prize was introduced to Lasse Hallstrom, Swedish director of English-language titles together with What’s Consuming Gilbert Grape and Chocolat.
