With Oscar nominations firmly set and a number of guild award exhibits each week between now and the massive present in March, the race to the Academy Awards has entered its ultimate leg. This weekend is a vital one for award watchers, with the Producers Guild of America and Administrators Guild of America each giving out their annual prizes at ceremonies that might predict the Finest Image and Finest Director race.
The 77th annual DGA Awards, which occur on the Beverly Hilton on Saturday, February 8, will honor the 12 months’s most interesting achievements in function filmmaking, episodic TV, and industrial directing. Nominees for the night’s high prize, Theatrical Function Movie, are Jacques Audiard (“Emilia Pérez”), Sean Baker (“Anora”), Edward Berger (“Conclave”), Brady Corbet (“The Brutalist”), and James Mangold (“A Full Unknown”). Final 12 months’s Theatrical Function Movie award went to Christopher Nolan for “Oppenheimer,” which went on to comb the Oscars.
Different notable classes embrace the Michael Apted First-Time Theatrical Function Movie, which has the likes of Payal Kapadia (“All We Think about as Mild”) and RaMell Ross (“Nickel Boys”) as nominees, and Dramatic Sequence and Comedy Sequence, that are dominated by “Shogun” and “The Bear,” respectively.
Hold studying for a whole listing of nominees on the 2025 DGA Awards. Winners shall be listed as they’re introduced.
