Cinematographers for Emilia Perez and Dune: Half Two are among the many nominees within the characteristic movie class for the 69th British Society of Cinematographers (BSC) awards.
Paul Guilhaume is nominated for taking pictures Jacques Audiard’s Mexico-set musical Emilia Perez; whereas Greig Fraser is nominated for Denis Villeneuve’s epic sequel Dune: Half Two.

The duo are joined by Lol Crawley – the only real British nominee – for his work on Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist; Stephane Fontaine for Edward Berger’s Conclave; and Jarin Blaschke for Robert Eggers’ interval horror Nosferatu.
It’s a first nomination for Crawley, Fontaine and Guilhaume; a second nomination for Blaschke after The Lighthouse; and a fourth for Fraser, after Lion, Dune and The Batman.
The BSC says that the Cinematography In A Characteristic Movie award is the second-oldest cinematography award in movie, after the equal Academy Award.
Robbie Ryan took final 12 months’s BSC characteristic movie prize for Poor Issues, and was nominated for the Bafta and Oscar.
The Tv Drama class has been divided this 12 months, into Tv Drama (worldwide/streaming) and Tv/Drama (UK terrestrial).
Established movie cinematographers in these classes embody Emmanuel Lubezki and Bruno Delbonnel, for episode one in all Alfonso Cuaron’s Disclaimer; and Censor and Mogul Mowgli cinematographer Annika Summerson, for episode one in all BBC collection Ludwig.
The winners shall be introduced on the BSC awards ceremony in London on Saturday, February 1.
