Anthony Ramos is opening up about why he’s excited to be taking part in a nasty man in Marvel’s Ironheart.
Ramos has been tapped to play Parker Robbins/The Hood in Ironheart, which premieres on Disney+ in June 2025. The Marvel Studios sequence sees Dominique Thorne reprise her position as Riri Williams/Ironheart after she made her MCU debut in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Without end.
Talking with sondramedia, Ramos was requested what it’s like attending to play a villain, particularly given the truth that he’s usually performed likable protagonists in initiatives reminiscent of 2021’s Within the Heights and 2023’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
What did Anthony Ramos say about his Ironheart villain?
“It’s cool,” Ramos answered. “I’m beginning to get these dangerous man roles. Even in Twisters, I wasn’t essentially the great man within the film, you realize what I’m saying? I believe all of us have that aspect to us, you realize? I admire that. It’s very good of you to say that I’m a likable man. I admire that, my brother. That’s what makes it even higher to play these sort of roles. As a result of even a few of our favourite villains are nonetheless likable, proper? You concentrate on the Joker, proper? There are villains in motion pictures that you just’re similar to, ‘Dang, I actually, actually like this dude, however he’s the worst.’
“Each villain has their causes, bro. They’ve bought their causes, whether or not it is smart to you or not, and whether or not you agree with what they do. They’re like, ‘Properly, I do that due to that…’ My favourite half about taking part in a nasty man is that you just actually get to faucet into the thoughts of an individual who is actually doing mistaken, however they’ve justified why they do it. To them, their cause is legit, and it’s an excellent cause. So, that’s been enjoyable exploring that with not solely The Hood, however these totally different characters that I’m taking part in.”
Ironheart will premiere on June 24, 2025, on Disney+.
