Guillermo del Toro, Jodie Foster, Hikari and Lee Byung Hun have been revealed as the primary group of honourees for the seventh annual Tribute Awards at this yr’s Toronto Worldwide Movie Competition (TIFF).
Oscar-winning Mexican-born filmmaker del Toro, whose Frankenstein is getting a gala presentation on the competition, will obtain TIFF’s Ebert Director Award.
Two-time Oscar winner Foster, star of the competition’s North American premiere A Non-public Life, will obtain the TIFF Share Her Journey Groundbreaker Award.
Japanese author, director and producer Hikari, whose Rental Household is having its world premiere on the competition, will get the TIFF Rising Expertise Award.
South Korean actor Lee is the recipient of the TIFF Particular Tribute Award and can attend the competition because the star of Park Chan-wook’s No Different Alternative. The movie has been added to the TIFF line-up as a North American gala premiere.
Brendan Fraser, who received TIFF’s Tribute Performer Award in 2022, will function honorary chair of he Tribute Awards.
