The Critics Selection Affiliation (CCA) has introduced the nominees for its tenth annual Critics Selection Documentary Awards, with Neon launch “Orwell: 2+2=5” and Netflix launch “The Good Neighbor” main the pack with seven nominations and 6 nominations, respectively, together with a Finest Documentary Function nod for each.
The winners can be revealed at a gala occasion on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at The Edison Ballroom in Manhattan. Hosted by award-winning actor, author, and producer Aasif Mandvi, the milestone occasion is claimed to host quite a lot of main filmmakers, trade professionals, and particular company for a night celebrating excellence in documentary filmmaking.
The CCA beforehand introduced that legendary documentarian Ken Burns will obtain the Critics Selection Affect Award, which can be offered by acclaimed actor Christine Baranski, and visionary “Folktales” filmmakers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady will obtain the CCA’s Pennebaker Award (previously the Critics Selection Lifetime Achievement Award), offered to them by Pennebaker’s widow and collaborator, Chris Hegedus.

The tenth annual awards ceremony is produced by Bob Bain of Bob Bain Productions and Joey Berlin of Berlin Leisure.
“The nominated movies and sequence this 12 months remind us how documentary storytelling can illuminate fact, encourage empathy, and deepen our understanding of the world,” stated Christopher Campbell, Critics Selection Affiliation’s VP, Documentary, through assertion. “We’re thrilled to acknowledge the filmmakers whose imaginative and prescient and dedication preserve the artwork type evolving.”
