British composer Michael Nyman will obtain a lifetime achievement award on the upcoming World Soundtrack Awards (WSA), Movie Fest Gent’s annual movie music award ceremony.
Nyman is thought for his Bafta-nominated rating for The Piano and his collaborations with Peter Greenaway on movies resembling The Prepare dinner, The Thief, His Spouse & Her Lover and The Draughtsman’s Contract. His different scores embody Neil Jordan’s The Finish Of The Affair and Andrew Niccol’s Gattaca.
He will probably be introduced with the award on October 16 in Ghent, the place a collection of Nyman’s work will probably be carried out by the Brussels Philharmonic performed by Dirk Brossé.
